Wikipedia just follows the selectively literal interpretations – 70 weeks of Daniel 9:24-27. A mass of interpretations all prophesying and projecting forward. Daniel was looking backward before looking forward establishing type, for antitype and eventually archetype. There was no selective literalizing and applying specifically to the N.T. witness and avoiding the construction, the making by written word in a Warrior Age of brutality. It is time to correct the misinterpretations.
Daniel was finalizing Form. Nebuchadnezzar’s dream was purely about the Jewish nation up the end of the two witnesses – the two temple eras. Pre-exilic up to Babylonian captivity and Post-exilic up to the great victory by Judas Maccabees. Western philosophy insists the feet (iron and clay) was Rome and this was splattered by their Rock – Jesus Christ. In Jewish records the following is propositioned:
Head (gold) – Nebuchadnezzar
Chest and arms (silver) – Media-Persia
Belly and thighs (brass) – Greece
Legs (iron) – Ptolemaic rule
Feet (iron and clay) – Antiochus Epiphanes
Rock – Judas Maccabees.
Daniel created form in 7:3 by looking right back to the beginning of their known history giving the image of 3 beasts and a diverse beast – Saul (Lion), David (Bear), Solomon (Leopard) and the division into kingdoms – the Diverse beast Israel and Judah
In chapter 9:24-27, the 70 weeks then brought together the two eras into one symbol, metaphor, allegory, glyph combining the two eras into a lifetime experience. Stories and metaphors create commentary on governance and institutions.
Other aspects of Daniel also referred to their cosmological – celestial and terrestrial, Day and Night, Light and Darkness, Sacred and Civil and this was brought together in the division of their year into two half years of 180 days each of 1260 days (180 X 7) over a seven year period. They described the half year in terms of – time, times and the dividing of times documented from the preparation for the exodus on the tenth day of Abid – Exod. 12:1-7.
Unlike surrounding nations they wanted to create Form. Form is the only weapon in a Warrior Age that constructs perception of higher elevation. The form they created started by describing their governance as alma or bethulah, and when the child grew to maturity Hezekiah was called Immanuel. They were not just duplicating the same image from surrounding cultures but creating Form in metaphors that would endure in each age as the circle became larger. When reconstruction failed the message was taken to the Gentiles (Isa. 60:3) of the Pre-exilic age. The book was open for Hezekiah. Daniel knew the contents of the open book and wrote extensively of time and times and the dividing of times – in Dan.7:25-26 and concluded Daniel, not with a Roman insignia but 1335 Dan. 12:12-13 (5+ 1260 + 70). 5 days 1/10 -1/15 choosing the Pascal lamb, 1260 showing community must be at one within the cosmological, and adding 30 days to the Feast of Dedication and 40 days to the Abomination of Desolation. All this symbolized over a seven year period.
Christianity is asked to correct their wrong interpretation of Daniel 2.
Daniel – Chapters 7 – 9
In Dan. 7:1 Belshazzar had a dream and four great beasts came out of the depths. Is this dream pointing forward or a recall of the Pre-exilic times before Belshazzar reign? Christianity claims this dream pointed forward.
The four beasts by some are said to Babylonia, Media-Persia, Greek and Rome… But the characteristics of the four beasts fit Saul (Bear), David (lion), Solomon (leopard) and the Diverse Beast fits the image of Israel and Judah recorded in the O.T. books:
Saul was plucked (confident), lift up (kingly), with a new heart. Saul was tall. Saul was given a new heart. Like a bear.
David had three ribs (Moabites, Edomites and Syrians) in his mouth, was raised up on one side (dominion), and devoured much flesh (many conquests). Like a lion.
Solomon had four wings (speed), four heads (wisdom) and a large dominion (large empire). Solomon has the identification 666.
The diverse beast was not like a king, but a kingdom. Hence the diversity. The ten horns fit the ten tribes of Israel, lost to Assyria that stamped the residue into submission. Daniel was also looking back to the last seven kings of Judah after Hezekiah’s rebuilding of the temple. Daniel said a little horn arose out of these seven and three horns were plucked by the roots. We are told Asher, Manasseh and Zebulon were plucked by the roots as they moved to Jerusalem during this time.
Point 1. It appears that Belshazzar was remembering the Pre-exilic experience of his ancestors. These characteristics do not fit in any way to Babylonia, Media-Persia, Greek and Rome. If Dan. 7 is about the Pre-exilic ceremonial times then Rome and beyond was never a part of Daniel 2.
In Dan. 7:10 we are told “the books were open”, understood after the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was as white as snow. So Daniel writing after the victory of Judas Maccabees realised the book had been opened when Hezekiah restored the temple. And because of captivity, and then the decline of governance during the times of the rule of Media-Persians, Greek’s Alexander and lead Antiochus Epiphanes (who many Jews joined) that the book (writing) had been closed. With the victory by Judas Maccabees that set the everlasting kingdom, and men sang and children played in the streets, the book was opened and Daniel recorded the two temple eras in the symbol of the 70 weeks.
The next question will be what is meant by Daniel 7:25-26 “time and times and the dividing of times.”
Here is the mathematics of Daniel’s vision of 69 weeks of 70 weeks of Daniel 9:24-27. Thisis 483 years of 490 years of Pre-exilic time.

Let’s count the years of kings recorded from David – 49 ( -5) + 17 + 3 + 41 + 25 + 8 + 1 + 6 + 40 + 29 +52 + 16 + 16 + 29 + 55 + 2 + 31 +1/4 + 11 +1/4 + 11 years + 50 years of captivity = 483
The (-5) is because Shishak pillage the Temple 5 years into Rehoaboam’s 17 year reign. And the 49 years (first break of Daniel 9 :24-27) occurred at that time of the pillage.
1021 – 483 = 538 Ceremonial Years (not Chronological) when form against the warrior class was being established in Word.
69 weeks = 483 years (69 X 7).
The book of Daniel is not a prophecy but a recording of the 1st Temple and 2nd Temple eras. The final week of Daiel 9:24-27 is 2520 days made up of 2300 + 10 + 210.

The book was open in the time of Daniel. Daniel fully understood what he wrote up. Western Christianity is asked to correct their projection forward of the 490 years.
Seven Dating Features Need Identifying
In summary, seven key features or events must be identified to confirm that the 70 weeks (490 years) of Daniel 9:24-27 relate to Pre-exilic and Post-exilic Jewish times. These seven points are identifed and conclusively prove that the concept was relating only to Jewish orally recorded records.
The recorded types found must perfectly correspond in both Daniel and Ezekiel otherwise the pillars of this temple will crack and collapse. Samson would not be required. Let’s summarize the seven-handed task:
- The first 69 weeks (483 years) are of a 70-week (490 years) period. The final 1 week (7 years) will be detailed after the initial 69 weeks (483 years) are established. This final week, or 7 years, relates to the second temple era (post-Babylonian) and will be dealt with as we progress.
- The first 7 weeks (49 years) and the second 62 weeks (434years) together total 483 years, or 69 weeks. Reasons for the split are fully and consistently identified.
- The 390 years commence in 975 BC and stretch from 975 BC to585 BC, defining the start of full captivity. The year 975 BC must mark a key event.
- The 40-year period extends from 625 BC to 585 This mustmark another key event.
- Furthermore, 483 years should commence in 1021 BC. Did David command Solomon to build a temple in this calculated year, and how is this proven from the sacred reckoning dates of the OT (1 Chron. 22:5, 6, 19)? The 483-year periods should continue through to the end of Babylonian captivity (1021 BC – 483 BC = 538 BC). It is going to be shown that Cyrus, a Persian, cut off Babylonian captivity, “not for himself” but for the Jewish nation.
- There must be a very significant event of 972 BC, 49 years after 1021 BC, breaking up the 483 years period into two distinct parts and it must be a major incident.
- The final symbolic type of 1 week (7 years) will then need to be detailed and found in the second temple era and its meaning as part-of-the-whole clarified.
The books of Kings and Chronicles perfectly record the years of each king’s reign to total 483 years. The last 7 years refers to the Post-exilic era where again where again you have plunder, mourning and reconstitution.

Wikipedia has no answer for the Day-year principle and merely accepts the non-Jewish interpretations espoused down the centuries. This will be corrected.
1,335 days: Symbol of the Ending of the Book of Daniel (Dan. 12:12–13)
The symbol 1,335 days has no explantion in Wikepedia from any source available.
There is an appendix to Daniel for those who want more. It is right at the end of that book. It is well worth covering just to give further insight. Daniel has a final symbol of 1,335 days at the end of the book (Dan. 12:12–13). In Isaiah, the interpreting customs are found in 28:9–10: “Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little” (see Isa. 28:10). Only once an in-depth knowledge of testaments is known does the picture come together.
So what were these 1,335 days mentioned in Daniel 12:12–13? “Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty day. But go thou way till the end be: for though shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.” This concatenated prophecy would stand undiscovered till “the end of the days.” These 1,335 days in the book of Daniel are a stacked type and have a prefix and suffix to the sacred year type of 1,260 days. It is like two bookends, well bounded, by Daniel a master book binder, around the iconic 1,260 days:

This is the last great monument of Daniel (1,335 days = 5 + 1,260 + 70). You can now appreciate how all of these peculiar jigsaw pieces fuse together. Five days before a half-year period of 1,260 plus 30 days to Jeroboam’s Feast of Dedication, plus another 40 days to the Abomination of Desolation, are all great symbols of the Jewish year. Jeroboam’s celebration of idolatry was 30 days after the Feast of Tabernacles: 1,260 + 30 = 1,290 days. To this is added another 40 days to the Feast of Dedication; 40 days is again symbolic, as our active life opportunity, as is 70 of life. John 10:22 refers to the Feast of Dedication, saying, “And it was at Jerusalem the Feast of Dedication and it was winter.” If you have not seen this symbol before, it is time to reconsider every held doctrine, and deep meditation.
The writers of the book of Daniel swiftly created form. Daniel looked back to the first temple era, when the year of 360 days was divided into two halves, the sacred and the secular. The writers set out to establish a lasting, symbolic memorial. They wanted the secular to be consonant with the sacred. Their philosophy was idiosyncratic in a vacuous, barbaric void. They provided a monograph, transcribing a new written ability of the inkhorn. Form, when translated from chil, means “to bring forth (in pain),” and when translated from yatsar, means “to form, fashion, frame or constitute.” Without form, ruin and vacancy predominate. The writing of the written word, call the “Word of God” (Rev. 19:13), was brought forth in much pain and perennial struggle in each era.
Daniel frames a structure in the final verses of chapter 9. This vision of the seventy weeks (Dan. 9:24–27) hinges on Judaic notion of ever completing transient time. Any theological student must ask why such likenesses of the kingly beasts of the OT’s history were so theatrically portrayed over and over in Daniel — the same beastly symbols we will find in Revelation. All symbolization was purposely designed to bring forth, to fashion substance.
